A WISER AND WEAKER NATION

Over the past five years I have witnessed a much wiser nation. A nation where the information train never stops. We have 24/7 media that will teach us most anything. There is also 24/7 talk radio. The internet is the biggest contributor to our learning needs. It is easy to see how we are more intelligent today than we were 20 years ago, but only in the past 5 years have we the general public begun to implement and abuse these new skills. Now we have become a wiser nation, have we also weakened ourselves?

Here are some examples. Having politicians on the 24/7 media has taught us how to manipulate better. We will take someone's words, spin them out of context to fit our agenda. This way nothing you say really matters, it will be reinterpreted for you. This has weakened us to where we can say nothing right. In other words we have become superior liars like the politicians. Wiser or weaker nation?

The media teaches us isolated instances are rampant. The same violence that has been taking place for many decades is now broadcasted as headline news. Even the smallest infractions are broadcasted in a finger-pointing manner, such as car chases. Just a few years ago, these things were only news in your local paper. The emphasis that the media puts on violence makes law-abiding citizens appear as dangerous, creating a paranoid homeland. Wiser or Weaker nation?

The media and internet have taught us terrorist techniques where before would never been a thought. How to build bombs can be found with no effort. Wiser or weaker nation?

We are taught video cameras are a good thing, they make us safe. They are also used to invade our privacy, and will be used against you in the future in ways you can not imagine. Wiser or weaker nation?

There are groups that have learned how to live, implement instruction, tell you what to eat, and how to take care of your children better. As adults we can not be trusted to do these things to their standards. Wiser or weaker nation?

We have learned, to simply disagree with somebody is not enough. We are educated enough to destroy our coworkers, friends and even family, just from a simple disagreement or argument. Wiser or weaker nation?

Apologies are demanded when there is nothing to be sorry for. Wiser or weaker nation?

God, Jesus, religion, Christmas, guns, Easter, religious, patriotism, loyalty, marriage, private propriety, borders, titling terrorists, creed, disagreeing, independent, laws and on and on are bad things. Wiser or weaker nation?

Being smarter is not always good. It can actually make you dangerous.
