RACISM II

TIRED OF THE COLOR CODE. After raising questions last week I pondered if removing the color prefix was achievable.

If you entertain a party and invited a friend of another race, would you announce their color prior to their arrival? Would the element of surprise be an issue? Do you have a family member or friend that would be uncomfortable if they weren't warned? You might not invite a particular person to prevent conflict. Is this racism or just offering protection?

Prominent people in the media have used racism for riches. Individuals will use the TV soapbox to insert a racial agenda. This level of racism is concocted, and needs to be dismissed. For those of us who are not racist, this is a powerful perpetual driving wedge.

The day to day prejudice at a layman's level is not problematic. This type discrimination involves all creeds. We will speak about ourselves in our own image. It is who we are. In the good old days the polite would use the reference coloreds. Unavoidably, that applies to us all. The color element can only be eliminated by closing your eyes. Will human nature permit healing, or will we continue the relentless cycle?
