SPIRIT

SPIRIT

The Iraq war has obviously been more complicated than initially planned. Knowing the strengths of the US military, I ponder why haven't we won, and why aren't we winning? The Iraq war has shifted fronts from the primary battles. Defeating the Iraqi army was easy, and from that point things looked good. As months passed, the war changed. What was once army against army, turned into a banshee struggle. The greatest military in the world was stressed against an enemy they could not see or predict. Bombs hidden in cars. Hidden bombs strapped on humans. Snipers that had tens of thousands of homes to hide in. An enemy without a uniform, and another enemy here at home with no open-mindedness and a pessimistic attitude. The enemy knows capturing our soldiers makes the public and media reluctant to continue the fight. We the people have shown the enemy a New America. The foes see a cowardly public, lacking the fighting spirit of past generations, surrendering for the sake of political statements. This pleases our enemies greatly. They know we are in position for defeat here and abroad.

The lack of spirit from we the people, the enemy within, is motivating the adversaries. The old-timey spirit behind our flag has faded. The brave spirit of 76, and the spirit of faith is weak-willed in our schools, jobs, marriages, city governments, nation’s leaders, communities, families, children, churches, friends, even in our homes. The enemy sees the lack of optimism within us. The enemy sees the confrontation has no worldly spirit to fight back. The media soapbox shows us a spirited enemy, and a nation that is very spirited when it comes to fighting and killing amongst ourselves.

The enemy has been patient. The expected rewards of a US public implosion fills the enemy with delight. A wiser but weaker nation will not defeat a ruthless, violent, and evil assembly that worships death. This war has no fronts. This enemy has no home. This enemy is in over 60 nations in the world, including the USA. This enemy has no identifiable face or uniform. This enemy will gladly give up their lives for the cause. This foe will destroy an opponent that is keeping a rolling tally of their dead as a reason not to fight. A nation that treasures life without spirit can not defeat an opponent that treasures death by means of spirit.

The spirited military hasn't overwhelmed an enemy armed with only conventional weaponry, they have no radars, satellites, air power, navy, or organized army. So who is losing this war, the military that is fighting on the front lines, or the public that is fighting at the home front? It is the lack of fighting spirit at home.

The politicians see a divided nation. The weak spirited people have given our leaders means to play politics with the war making bad decisions. I hear our leaders say daily, this is what the public wants. We the people are making a foundation for their political blather. We the people have become justification for their actions, or their lack of. We the people are enabling dangerous egos to play with madness. The party’s leaders would be obligated to support the war if they saw public bipartisan unity. It is the responsibility of the public to be brave and force the elected official to make winning choices.

The battle began with Iraq, and drummed up a savvy combatant with a merciless determination to win, something we the people no longer have. This is a war of many years. The seriousness and ambition of these holy warriors should terrify you enough to want to fight. If you don’t fight this life-threatening enemy, you will be part of your own rolling body count, not tallying in thousands but in hundreds of thousands.

Are you really willing to give up your freedom just to prove an agenda? When the everyday comforts of life are gone, are you going to wish you had acted differently? Are you still denying there is no enemy? Is it only the USA that is evoking the problems? Was it the USA that invaded Kuwait? Was it your country that attacked the World Trade Centers in 1993? Was it your country that attacked US soldiers in Somalia? Was it the USA that attacked the embassies in Kenya and Tanzania and throughout the world? Was it the USA that attacked the USS Cole? Was it the USA that attacked the subways in Spain and London? Was it the USA that attacked the nightclubs in Australia? Was it really, the USA that brought down the World Trade Centers?

These are just some of the attacks on the world from the invisible enemy. Do you believe it will not happen again? World peace will never be achievable if we the people are controlled by terror. This spirited enemy will never go away. A strong winning spirit will be needed forever. World confrontation is inevitable if we don‘t restrain the enemy. A finger pointing agenda instead of facing the truth has weakened us. Will you ever be able to have peace of mind again? The self-assurance your children can grow up in a peaceful world is vanishing. The world as we once knew it 10, 20, 30 years ago will never return. Victory is imperative to maintain our freedoms. The unseen enemy has a goal to vanquish freedom. We will inevitably relinquish our freedoms if there is a major attack on the USA. We are living in the era of terror, and waiting around the corner is a vast awaking. Time is running out for freedom lovers.

Admitting this enemy is very serious and wants to kill all Americans will be a good place to start. If you believe talking to this enemy is the solution, then go ahead, and they will have your head, as you know. Americans have been targets since this all began in 1979, and has really escalated since 1993. No matter what your stance is on the war, this enemy will kill you. Republicans, Democrats, white, black, red or yellow are not immune. In their eyes we are all their enemies, and have been for 28 years. It is impossible to have a enemy surrender that has no home. They have nothing to lose therefore nothing is lost. This is a war of decades. Now we must convince our politicians of this, and hope they might make sound decisions that will save us all.

Can Americans put politics aside and find that winning spirit of decades ago one more time?
